Collection agency collecting on debts that are to old (outside statue of limitations) to be collected on. They use rude, harassing techniques and threats of criminal charges and lawsuits ( when they are banned by statue and they know that) to get people to pay right away, before the police or FTC have a chance to step in and stop the. DO NOT PAY THEM!!!! Ask for the Verification of debt ( but have it sent to a PO Box or general delivery at your neighborhood Post office so they won't get your real address if they don't have it )Tell them you are filing a complaint with the FTC and filing a criminal complaint with the fraud unit at the DA's office if they call again. BUT , do not pay them.
