I believe the above company falsely, purposely and incorrectly diagnosed a problem as to why my A/C unit was not working. On August 24, 2010 this company was sent out by my Home Protection Company to look at my central air-conditioning unit that had stopped working.
After their inspection the above company informed my home protection company that the A/C unit was dirty, (evaporating coil, condensing coil and the Indoor filter), and therefore they said it was not properly taken care of. Also noted by the technician from West Coast Repair was that the A/C unit was to close to the condo itself, which violated the current building and safety guidelines.
For the above two reasons my Home Protection Company denied the claim and stated they would not cover any repairs. West Coast Repair then called me and stated the A/C unit was not working, could not be fixed and it had to be replaced. They gave me a quote of $6,200.00, to install a new system.
The next day another A/C company (Burbank Plumbing and Heating) came to look at the A/C unit. The technician found that the unit was not very dirty at all and noticed that a blue plastic recycling container was placed (by my tenant) right next to the A/C unit. The technician thought it was so close to the unit that it was probably restricting the air flow. He moved the blue container a few feet away from the A/C unit. He turned it on and discovered the A/C unit was now working perfectly, now blowing cold air with a 20 Degree split between the return.....(something or other)....
Beware...............
