BEWARE - ABSOLUTELY AWFUL
|
We have just returned from a 3-day tour from Los Angeles to the Grand Canyon, which we booked through the tours4fun website.
This has got to be the worst trip that I've ever taken.
First, there is nothing on the website nor in the details of this particular tour that state this is a Chinese tour. It is run by a Chinese tour company. The driver and tour guide are Chinese as well as 90% of the travelers. I was not notified that this would in fact be a bilingual tour until AFTER I booked it. To state that it is bilingual is almost a joke since the tour guide would talk for nearly 20 minutes in Chinese and then spend only a minute or two in English. Had I known that this would be a Chinese tour, I would have never booked it. Our fellow Chinese travelers were so rude and pushy. Every time the bus stopped, it was madness as they pushed and shoved their way off the bus. I was traveling with a child and they even pushed and shoved him!
Secondly, the whole reason for booking this was to see the Grand Canyon. We spent about an hour at the Grand Canyon and at only ONE of the viewpoints. We had a wake-up call at 4.30 in the morning for a departure at 5:15! Then to spend only an hour after over 5 hours of driving there was unbelievable. It was such a shame to be at one of the seven wonders of the world and constantly be looking at our watch. Again, this is not even mentioned in the details of this tour on your website. The stop at Hoover Dam lasted only minutes! Honestly on this tour, you spend more time at outlet malls than you do at the Grand Canyon.
Also, I saw in the details of tour that there were optional tours available, such as a Las Vegas night tour. I had no idea, however, that we would be pressured into taking one of these extra trips and then made to feel bad for declining them. Even worse, was the tour guide trying to scare people by telling them that the black homeless people on the strip will rob you if you go out alone. I've been to Las Vegas many times and this is just nonsense.
Whilst I knew that there would be a mandatory service charge for the tour guide and driver, I did not expect them to collect this on the first day before even getting to Las Vegas.
That is just bad form. Typically, you tip at the end of your trip not before it has even begun. I suspect this is done because the service is so bad so the tour guide and driver want to make sure that they get the tip before you have time to realise just how bad the service really is.
Lastly, when I booked this tour I indicated my pick-up and drop-off spot. On the last day of the tour, our guide pressured me into being dropped off and another spot. Then told me that I could have a friend pick me up. He told me that none of the other passengers were going to my predesignated drop-off spot. After 10 minutes of bullying me to get dropped at off at another spot, he then just walked away. Later he told me that I would have to get off at another spot and he would personally take me to our drop-off location with his personal car. After three days of this absolutely dreadful trip, this was the last straw.
Needless to say, we were extremely disappointed. The tour started off bad and just got worse all the way until the end.
This was my first trip booked through tours4fun and will definitely be the last after our experience. The most shocking is that I emailed tours4fun the day after our tour ended and nearly 3 days later have still not received a reply. I know tours4fun is cheap but I'd rather spend a little more and actually enjoy myself than waste my time and money on this horrible company. BEWARE! I would have rated this company with zero stars but it isn't available! I wonder why!
