Review 1/16/2011

Bought a charger for $130 that Best Buy told me would be compatible. It fried my motherboard as well like the person previous' complaint. Initial customer service was excellent, very helpful. Then I was sent to Mr. Nale at the next dept who told me they plugged it in and everything was working ok according to their volt meter. Funny bc my volt meter at home did not say the same which is why I decided to pursue the issue with Targus.
Upon further research I found complaints on the Consumer Product Safety Commission website similar but for different models. So I registered my model. I have been in contact with everyone I could find with similar complaints and we are taking up action against Targus since they refuse help to any of us.
Now Mr. Nale might return peoples' phone calls instead of emailing and expecting them to check it through a computer they no longer have. They never sent back the adapter as promised so I could get it tested myself. Never returned any calls. I had 7 days to respond to the email to seek more resolution, but didn't check it in time.
However, the email didn't include any statement from the technicians saying what their volt reading was or anything to make me believe Mr. Nale didn't just get my letter about losing my architectural design internship and a speedy resolution is much appreciated, laugh at it and throw it in the trash. Very sketchy business practices. Im not stupid and dont appreciate being treated as if I were.
