I don't know where to begin other than how grateful I am to come across NFS. I was referred to them by a friend that used then about 5 years back for a divorce. Long story short, my girlfriend and I decided to split up after 7 years and two children later. Her family has a lot of money and immediately got her an attorney and convinced her to file for joint custody. I went 7 months without seeing my kids and it was the worst time of my entire life. I don't wish that pain upon anyone. I had several consultation with attorneys but there was absolutely no way I could afford one. When I got help from NFS, they helped me file a response immediately. A month later, i had my first court date. I got joint physical and joint legal custody. Now I have my kids every other weekend and two days during the week. I am getting them for a week during Christmas also. It would have been a lot more difficult. to do this without their help. I think I drove my Case Manager crazy with all my concerns and hypothetical but she couldn't have been more patient with me. She said it's her job but I felt like she was family my the end. May God bless them for helping families see their children.
