Land Rover South Bay has recently started servicing Jaguars. I took my Jaguar for 60,000 mile service on 07/30/10. This fee was $700. My car passed with flying colors. 2 weeks later the engine light comes on. I took my car back but the hood wouldn't open. The tech says the hood cable is broken. Really? It was fine 2 weeks ago. They re-evaluated my car ($134) and said that the IMT seals needed to be changed ($550), the hood cables needed to be repaired ($525), and I had a broken fog light ($325). I do not believe these fees included labor but I could be wrong. I took my car to an independent mechanic and he determined that my intake vacuum hose was the problem, not the IMT seals. He charged $144 for the hood cable parts plus $307 labor; $145 for the fog light part plus $30 labor; and $17 for the vacuum hose seal kit plus $149 labor. Additionally, he looked at my two Vehicle Inspection Reports from Land Rover and saw that somehow my tire tread and brake linings had increased in size between my 2 week visits. Very interesting. Needless to say, I'm going to be asking for my money to be refunded based on this incompetence. I also have no problem suing Land Rover South Bay since I'm in the legal field and believe that no one should suffer incompetent, sub-standard service. What an absolute breach of good faith and fair dealing. I would never recommend anyone taking their Jaguar for service to this facility.
