My wife and I had troubles to make our mortgage payments, and we tried to find a resolution with the bank. After 6 months of frustration and excuses from the bank, we did not get anywhere and the bank did not wanted to modify, supposedly because we were not late on our mortgage. One of my co-workers referred me to Home Relief Assistance, and I contacted them. They explained me the program and the proposed plan of action to get us a lower mortgage payment, and we signed up with them. They handled the entire process from start to finish and they allowed me to listen to the conference calls that they did with the lender. I must say that I am truly impressed, because they avoided all the pitfalls and games that the bank tried with me directly before, which made me almost give up on this house and my high mortgage payments that I could barely make.
We are 60 days later now and we just got our modification finalized. My payment dropped about 45% for the lifetime of the loan, and we are very happy. If I know somebody that also needs help, I would definately recommend them to Home Relief Assistance.
