i paid Family Solution Centers $1050 to draw up a modification for child support order in June 2010. I paid in full after submitting all of their required information. I was forced to use a local business to fax the information to them since i had no means of faxing the info from my home and was trying to expedite the process and avoid snail mail. The local business i used was also friends of my ex husband but i thought nothing of it since i also do business with them and knew the fax was confidential. After not receiving the promised paperwork for over a month i contacted FSC and was told the lawyers were really busy but it would be sent soon (i thought by mail). 2 weeks later i rec'd a phone call from my ex husband's friend telling me they received all of my court documents on their business fax and didn't know what to do with them. I rushed up there and got them but not knowing they had already notified my ex of the document info against him. The paperwork also contained major errors such as the County where the court was located which prevented me from being able to use them at all. When i contacted FSC they wouldn't return my calls/emails for 2 weeks. I finally spoke to an unknown representative that said he would forward the compalaint to Brent Berkowitz (my representative). 1 week later i rec'd extremely low quality copies of the court papers in the mail. 2 out of 3 of them still contained the same errors as reported with the County Court name. The only response i rec'd back from FSC was a brief email from Mr Berkowitz saying "We reserve the right to use any contact information provided by clients to communicate with them unless they specify in advance that we are not to use the contact information provided to communicate with them." he also asked me to provide needed revisions for their correction. I provided that information the same day and asked for a partial reimbursement of fees due to the problems they created for me. I've never rec'd another response from them in form of corrected documents, apologies or reimbursement since then. I've sent multiple emails and left multiple voice mails with them since they always tell me my representative has stepped away from his desk every time i call.
If FSC had only communicated closely with me after making the mistakes, and corrected their errors on the paperwork i paid so much money for, i would have accepted that. Being ignored and disrespected as soon as they rec'd payment in full is not acceptable from any business.
