I took my VW Passat to Capo VW for a professional diagnose and repair.
The car was diagnosed and a VW mechanic called me to explain about the repair and cost. Apparently nothing extreme was wrong - just transmission gaskets needed to be replaced, fresh fluid and other minor problems. Invoice was $ 1,850.00 - somehow expensive, but I decided having the pros doing the service and repair. When I picked up the car I was told that the problems has not been resolved - I NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION.............
This would add another $ 5K + labor and tax
KBB trade-in value is around $ 3,500
I live almost next door to this dealership, but based on experience listed above - well, somebody else will have to service my VW....................
