I answered a cold sales call (stupid!) from CA Carpet and Air Duct Cleaning and agreed to have my ducts cleaned for $15 each. I was told by the company that the cleaning entailed sealing all vents and applying a negative suction to main vent to clean and remove debris. To my surprise when they arrived they had a hand held shop vac...HUH? I can do that myself! They tried their hardest to convince me that I needed everything but a new kitchen sink...unit needs serviced = $350...new Hipi filter = $85...dryer vent cleaned. But of course I also needed all brand new ducts because mine were destroyed = $2000. When I showed no interest I was quickly blown off, they left a huge mess and didn't even complete the job they said they did. I hired another company to come and inspect the work and SHOCKER! Nothing was done properly, they didn't do all vents (not that would matter with a hand held vac!) nor did I need anything they tried to sell me!
If you see this company RUN RUN RUN! I cancelled their check immediately so luckily I wasn't a victim of their fraud. I had to pay another company to inspect their work fix several screw ups so I technically still lost money with nothing gained.
I did some homework and found they have a BBB rating of F, for "extreme fraudulent activity, unreliability and especially NO CURRENT LICENSES OR REGISTRATION ON FILE." RUN RUN RUN!!!
