Review 4/17/2008

In early March I saw an advertisement for a Bender Ball from Bender Method Core Training. I specifically ordered only 1 Bender Ball and 1 DVD. Approximately 2 days later this company had debited my Checking account twice the amount owed. I didn’t receive the package until 2 ½ weeks later and noticed that they sent me two of each. The advertisement indicated, “Satisfaction guaranteed or a full refund.”
I called the Customer Service 800 number and explained that I only ordered one and wanted to return the other, without being liable for the shipping/handling charges since this was the company’s error. I was told that these charges would be my liability. Obviously disgruntled, I decided that I didn’t want either and returned them (unused) on March 27, 2008 along with an attached letter indicating my utter dissatisfaction. The package was sent via U.S. Postal Service delivery. I purchased a “Delivery Confirmation Receipt” so I would know when the company received it. The package was delivered to the warehouse at the company on April 4, 2008 at 9:30 a.m.
I called the company to find out the status of my refund. Three representatives confirmed that the package had indeed been received. I was told that I would receive my refund within 5 business days. Over the course of two weeks I have been given the run-around by different representatives. I told them that I was going to report the company to the Better Business Bureau if I did not get my refund. So far I have placed seven calls and spoke with seven representives: Wayne, George, Massiel, Tom, Nicole (out of frustration, I stopped writing names down after the fifth).
To make matters worse, on April 8, 2008 this company debited another $26.98 from my account for merchandise that not only did I NOT order, but never received. I declined EVERY OTHER OFFER during the recording while ordering the (ONE) aforementioned Bender Ball. I called and complained. I told them that they illegally withdrew money from my account. I did not give them consent. I was told to return the package and I would be refunded. But, how do I return a package that I never received? In addition, I reiterated to them that I was still waiting to be refunded for the package that I did return and that they did receive. They kept giving me different information. I am afraid that I have been scammed.
I called my bank and told them about the scam. They immediately closed out the account and issued me a new card number. They are also conducting an investigation.
This company is so horrendous that I did not want to give them a “1” but there was not a worse option. They must be stopped!
