Review 4/22/2009

Unfortunately I have had the same experience as others. Baker, Kline & Wade contacted me in June of 2008. I didn't even find out about the settlement until my previous customer's attorney contacted me about signing the release. I then contacted BK&W who said I'd need to sign the release and they would send me the check. This was in August of '08. Countless faxes, e-mails and phone calls have gone unresolved. First, they settled for an amount that is far less than I would have accepted, and second, I haven't seen a bit of that money. I have filed complaints with the FL Office of Financial Regulation and with the FL state Bar. On Jan 30, 2009, I also go the fax saying that they were declaring bankruptcy and would settle for $0.20 on the dollar. I showed the fax to my attorney who said it looked like a bluff. However, just tried calling this morning and their number is disconnected. Web site still up, however.
Bottom line, looks like they will be easy to avoid now since they are shut down, but I would go to their web site and watch the names that scroll across the top - if you end up dealing with any of these people at another company - RUN AWAY!!!
