Since November 2004, I've been a member of BNI Los Angeles (often called BNI4Success, which is a franchise of the BNI corporate office address listed above so I'm hoping that this is the right place to put this feedback).
Over the course of time, it became very clear to me that BNI is simple to understand - you get from it as much as you give.
As a result, the referrals I received grew more and more and more over time, until I arrived at my 3rd year of membership when BNI hit the 60% mark for my business (that is, BNI at that point was responsible for 60% of every new client that walked into my hypnotherapy practice). It has stayed steady at around 60% ever since, and I couldn't be happier with that.
In addition, there's a ton of non-monetary benefits that come from being part of a business community that is committed to service and mutual support. BNI is one of the best business ideas ever.
