Activision's product Call of Duty: World at War has serious problems they wont fix. For Xbox at least (probably PS3 too), the mutiplayer mode is filled with hackers who modify the game. It's mostly the Nazi Zombie mini game. When you play, you see cheaters flying through the walls and playing in god mode (among other things). This is a problem by itself; it ruins the competitiveness of the game. However, the serious problem is that the hackers can change another players rank and XP score.
This is what happen to me. They made me rank 1 and my XP negative. Well, it's gets worse because of how stupidly Tryarch designed the game. They made it where if you have negative XP you can't play any online matches. The Xbox live options are written in grey writing and it says unlock at level 1. So fist of all it's irresponsible that they let hackers roam free on their servers, and second it's dumb they designed their game where the damage is worse than it needs to be.
I never had I problem like this with any other video game. So that is why I say their server security is below the proper standards. And their customer service just gives me cut & paste responses they give to everybody, when I wan't specific answers. YouTube has videos on how people derank other players, so I don't see how they don't fix the problem. This problem has been going on since October 2010, and it still continues today, February 2011.
I think they're just ignoring the problem, while making more money with new customers or old customers that luckily don't have this problem yet. Some of these hackers are asking their victims for money if they want their rank restored. Activision says it cant reset players rank or stats when I know hackers can because they messed up mine, booster their's, and even booster other random players'. Some of these hackers are teenagers! So yeah, Activision ignores problems and hopes other people won't find out about all the glitches, mods, hacks, and other problems of their inferior programs.
